Sweet Reward

My daughter was asked by her teacher to do the poster for the 6th grade's recollection.  She  drew the globe  in a poster which I forgot to  take a photo of before she brought it in school (my bad).
But anyhow, the other day, she came home with  a gift bag and she was delighted when she opened it.  There was a small  Easter bunny stuffed toy  with a Hershey bar.  She kept the plush toy and she handed the sweet treat to the boy who have sweet tooth.
So glad that my children continue to  shine in school.  It always give me an inspiration to strive harder to do my job as their Mom.

iPod

"Santa" delivered an iPod to my daughter last Chrsitmas, she was very happy about it. Since then, she hasn't use my cell phone in watching her  favorite shows or  playing her favorite games.   I like it that it is  WiFi ready so she can use at home or anywhere where WiFi is vailable.  I am not sure if goconnect app is compatible  with iPod but this app is a  good to have especially if you are an agent on the go.

Mardi Gras in School

Every year, the homeroom mom prepares a small celebration for the kids in school to enjoy Mardi Gras.  This is the  first year that my kids were able to participate in the celebration, because during the previous years, they were  sick.  As you can see in Mr. Burrito's face, he is very happy.
I was literally laughing  when I was taking a photo of him because he keep making faces lol.  They brought some treats like  necklaces, coins, and donuts.

Happily Mixed Up Community

My husband and I came from a very different background of ethnicity, culture, and tradition. I came from a very collective culture while hubby came from an individualistic type. Our interracial marriage brings us challenges especially in rearing our children. He was brought up in different ways and so am I so sometimes, it's now always smooth sailing but it does not mean that we fight about it. We talk about our differences in a calm manner and come up with a compromise.
We have different views on things including our parenting style to our children.  Both of us   carries different features that both of our children  has in them.  Nevertheless, hubby and I have a strong friendship even though we  came from different races.  It's not always easy but we  make sure to set aside our differences and focus on things that we can both work on to better do our   responsibilities  for our children and for our  marriage.
Coming herein America was exciting but at the back of y mind, there's  doubts and fears of facing new life back then.  I have to learn their  culture and try to adopt to them.  It wasn't easy but gladly, his family  are the most kind people.  They accepted me for what I am and embrace me just like their own family.  It help for an easy transition.  Our mixed race did not affect who we  are as a person, in fact, we've learned to  expand our vision of life and living.  We might be raising a
biracial children but it is not hindering us from being good parents.

Browsing online, I found Happily Mixed Up Community  website where you can meet  multiracial families just like us.  They have different  kinds of topics that you can find  about mixed race and marriages, men and women topics, parenting, multicultural, dating, multiracial, and many other topics that you can learn from.
Check it out and see  interesting topics.

Thanks Tita Chris for the nice laptop!

Coupon Codes

I love it when I find coupon that I can use to buy the things that we need at home.  Last weekend, we bought our daughter   a new pair of boots because the current one that she is using  for school is getting  old and tore up already.  We also bought our son some  pants  for his school uniform.  Nothing can beat the feeling of  buying things at a lesser price.  Oh speaking of  coupon code, I bought a domain a while ago for  only $2.95 as opposed to $14.95  price from GoDaddy.  I was very glad that  a friend of mine shared that coupon code to me.
Over here in America, coupon codes can be found   in many sources including magazines, newspapers,  and even online websites like familyvideocoupon.com.  It is a great help for families like us because we can  really save  money when we use coupons  when we buy things.  Now I haven't use the mobile coupon technique yet but I am planning to do that  very soon especially when buying groceries.  Now when I want to buy something online, I always scour the web first for coupons that I could use and I always find some.  How about you, do you use coupons?

Being a MoM

Painting  nails is not my kind of thing but it's one of those things that I like doing with my little lady, Ms. Burrito.  If it makes her happy, it makes me happy too.  We seldom paint our nails, only when there's special occasion.  I painted her nails last Christmas, she asked me to because she has to play piano in the church.  I told her, nobody will see your nails and she said, "I know but it makes me feel good to put my fingers on top of the piano when it is newly painted".  Okay young lady, you got a point lol.
Being a Mom, you have to be versatile, you have to learn things that you didn't normally do when you were still single.  It can be overwhelming but at the end of the day, you are still contented especially when you see the smiles on your children's face.  No high paying job can top  that, the feeling of being  a Mom, the feeling of being appreciated of what you do, and the feeling of being loved-back!
