Halloween 2014

This year's Halloween once again was rainy, just like last year.  I wish that the City of Weirton would look at the weather situation and somehow schedule trick or treating  on the day where there's no rain.  I mean, some places have done and I think that it  is excellent that they think that way.  Trick or Treating without rain would be so much enjoyable for kids and for sure, they won't get sick.  Anyhow, rain or shine, our Burritos are ready to do it.
Ms. Burrito was wearing  Toy Story's Jessie costume  and the little Mister was wearing George Washington costume.  I wasn't able to   buy the  wig for  GW costume so we had to improvise.  I used  the wig for his MJ costume from last year and put some  powder on it to make it white.
We only went  a few houses because the candies are not really worth it of them getting sick  due to the rain.  We went to our neighbor's houses first.  Below is a photo of them with Lolo and Lola Fancher's.
 At Bob and Alicia's house.
 With Tita Angie.
 With Tita Anita.
We went to  Marland Heights in the hope of finding their  classmate but unfortunately we didn't see them.  They went trick or treating  to some houses and then we went home.
It's funny that my daughter is not even into sweets but she was very eager to  get some candies.  She gave it all to her brother which I think is very sweet.
I hope that next year, Halloween wouldn't be raining. It would be much enjoyable.

Christmas Gifts

The Burritos are doing great in school so we got what they wanted for Christmas. "Santa" delivered some too!
Below are some of the presents  they got from relatives.  Thanks to Jen & Jim, Titas Chris and Gail.
Ms Burrito  always wants to  sew  clothes so we got her a sewing machine.  For the Mister, we got him a ball and a collection of hot wheels (not in the photo).  The sewing machine is designed for kids, it's easy to use and  operate.  It has two stitch pattern, straight and zigzag.
We also got them a piano as a grand prize for doing  so good in school and for behaving the whole year of 2012.

Dolled Up

As Ms. Burrito have planned, she decorated her cardboard box play house for Christmas in anticipation for Santa's visit. She is planning to put a tree beside it this weekend. She already made some ornaments out of cardboard and decorated it with glitters.  My seven year old is always busy creating things that I would have never thought of when I was her age.  So here it is, her  dolled up playhouse.

Trick or Treat 2012

The trick or treat event here in Weirton was rescheduled last Saturday. Even though it was a bit cold, we accompanied our Burritos to go treat or treating so they could have fun.
Thanks for commenting.

Easter Get-Together

We were invited by some of the Filipinos who live in the area for an Easter get together at Starvaggi Park last Sunday.  I enjoyed   lots of Filipino foods and the kids had so much fun playing with
I brought  two Easter buckets for the Burritos to use during the egg hunt.
Counting the eggs that they got.  The eggs were loaded with candies and chocolates!

Aside from the sweets inside the eggs, the organizer also prepared  prizes for the kids.  Mr. Burrito got the second prize and Ms. Burrito the third prize.  Below are the prizes they got, thanks Tita Agnes!
Easter here is definitely  different  from what I have known growing up.  IN the Philippines, Holy Week is more on contemplating, praying, fasting, and all that religious stuff.  Over here, it's more of a fun celebration,  but  I like it because it's fun for the kids.
