First Day of School SY 2015-2016

I was looking at this photo earlier at my phone and it makes me sad that my kids have grown up a lot! I am so grateful and blessed  that I get to be a stay-at-home-mom.  It might not be a cloud nine everyday (you know what I mean right, lol) but it's worth every second I spend my time with them.
oday is there first day of school and as I prepared their breakfast, U wanted to cry because I felt a very strong emotion  that I couldn't  explain.  I thought that as they grow older, it would be easier for me to  send them to school but no! It doesn't get any easier at all.  The only consolation I have is seeing their smiles  and  their excitement of going back to school.
They never really cried when I sent them to Kindergarten on the first day but I did!  I don't cry now when I get back home but still hard  for me to see them  go on the first day.  Today is half day and they have free dress day.  Tomorrow will be the start of a full day at school and wearing uniforms.
Anyway, we went to school early today to avoid the rush of so many  students pouring in.  We brought all their supplies last Friday when we  registered  so it was an easy day today.  I can't believe my son is now in third frade and my daughter is in middle school.  Ahhhh time really flies!
My daughter  woke up so early and made this  note for her teacher.
A pose with her classmate before I left.
As I tyoed this, my heart is heavy but at the same time  I am excited for their new adventures in learning.  Talking about mixed emotions eh?  I don't know, maybe I am just too attached to my kids that I have this separation anxiety everytime they go.
In ten years, we only left these two to a caregiver ince when we attended a Navy Bal few years ago.  Ut was really hard for me being away from them and it was just  for few hours.  I don't think I will be able to take it if we will be sparated for  weeks or even days,  Ih boym I better stop before tears  flood my keyboard.  Have a great  day everyone!

Father's Day Gifts

For Father;s Day, we decided to  make  our own gifts for my husband instead of buying.  The Burritos did some paintings for their Dad and we prepared some other stuff as well.  We did not spend much for our gifts since we used what he  have at home like photos, empty jars, and other  materials.  The only thing that we bought was the frames for their paintings.
Since the theme of our gifts is recycling, we used an empty cardboard box  to put our gifts in.  Ms. Burrito  covered it with the  colorful  papers that we used  when my husband celebrated his birthday.
"It's the thought that counts" is still being practiced at home.  We want to kids to learn how to appreciate  small and simple gifts as long as you put  effort and love in preparing it.
So these are what we have for him.  We used empty candle jars, put some colorful sand at the bottom and  put a photo inside.
The kids card is also "handmade" literally, lol.
They  wrapped their gifts personally and wrote  their messages on it.
Even my son did really well in wrapping his painting.
I gave my husband the notepad holder that he likes.
Our Father's Day celebration was very simple but very meaningful as we are all together.  How about yours, how was Father's Day at your end?

Busy Beavers

On weekeneds, my children gets to play with their  iPods a lot but I make sure that they are also involve of what we do inside and out of the house.  So if I am cleaning, they are helping me clean as wel.  Those old socks comes in handy in polishing our furniture.  They  polish all of our furitre while I clean the floor or doing laundry.
These photos were taken  last month when our  garden are still bare and nothing hasn't grown back yet.  I was doing some  tilling on our graden so they  decided to do a sack race.
Our rabbit was still alive when these were taken so his house was still  standing in our backyard.
It is no longer there as I asked my husband to tear it down.  He didn't want to remove it becausehe was thinking of replacing Wubzy but I said I am done, it is hard to see pets die.
I always thank God that He gave us two children.  When hubby and I got married, we said that we would only try to have  one child  so we can focus all our attention to her or him but God gave us another one and we are so blessed.
I told my daughter, imagine how boring her life  could have been if she  doesn't a have a  sibling to  play  with or  give a hard time to once in a while lol.  Life is great with these busy Beavers, they make our married  wonderful!

Flowers and Other Special Things My Children Gave Me on Mother's Day

Have you been racking your brain trying to come up with a good Mother's Day gift? Perhaps the best gift is one of the simplest. Rather than wasting your money on an expensive gift that your mother may not ever use or appreciate, you might want to get her a gift that every woman on the planet would enjoy. People have been giving flowers as gifts for literally thousands of years. This speaks volumes about their ability to delight those who receive them. You can order Mothers Day flowers and gifts from Fresh Flowers. Here are some of the many advantages of giving flowers as a gift.

The flowers my son gave me last year
They will not break your bank

These are difficult economic times we are living in. Therefore, you need to be careful how you spend your money. If you are on a budget and you have a limited amount of money with which to buy a gift, flowers are an ideal choice. You can get a lovely flower arrangement at a price that will not set you back very much. The person you are giving the flowers to, whether it is your mom or someone else, will appreciate the thought and effort you put into your gift. Flowers are the perfect gift for people who are looking to buy a beautiful gift and not go bankrupt in the process.

They are suitable for many occasions

There are certain gifts which are only suitable to give on specific occasions. However, this is not the case when it comes to flowers. For the most part, flowers are suitable for practically any occasion you can think of. If you have a close friend or family member who is welcoming a new child into this world, sending some flowers will be seen as a very considerate gesture on your part. Likewise, flowers are ideal to give people who are graduating college, or even when somebody you care about is recovering in the hospital. No matter what experience people are going through in life, everyone loves to receive flowers.

They will make an impression

If you give a person a gift they are not very interested in, they will soon forget that you even gave it to them. However, this will not happen when you give the gift of flowers. A beautiful arrangement of flowers will stay etched on the recipient's mind. They will not soon forget your kind gift.

Minion Theme on EJ's 8th Birthday

My baby turned 8 years old on the 15th of this month.  We had a small get together with close friends and family.  When my kids started going to school, I stopped  doing birthday parties. We usually go somewhere to celebrate their birthdays rather than having a party.  This year however,  Mr. Burrito wanted to have  party at home,  That's what  kept me busy last week, cleaning, organizing and cooking.
We only invited our  closest friends in the neighborhood and the Burritos  Aunt.
Up and below photos with Lolo Don and LOla Ruth Fancher.
With Ate Sarah, one of the Howells' ladies.
We played   scrabble and  monopoly and we all had so much fun!
We had an ice cream cake  that we bought at Dairy Queen.
Here's the birthday boy enjoying his  presents.
Daddy to the rescue with the not so kid-friendly packages hehehe.
We all agreed to idea of doing this kind of gathering more often because it's fun and brings us all closer.
The Howells, having a serious time  doing monopoly with the Burritos.
It's fun watching them.  I played scrabble with Lizzy and Nanay Ruth, we had a blast!
I decorated  the house   on Wednesday after I cleaned then I  prepared the food early as well.  Yesterday, I only have to do three things  rather than doing it all together, it was  stress free.
Great to have neighbors that really cares.   Hope we could  do this again soon.  Hopefully!

Special thanks to Wholesale Party Supplies for the birthday in a box sent to me for review.

Creativity

My daughter has always been showing her creative side  even when she was  a toddler.  She would always create  stuff and would not  just sit without doing anything.  She wants to use her time and  make her brain working all the time.
This is one reason why, I can't really  maintain  organization all the time at home. Sometimes I would tell her to clean her mess up but most of the times, I just clean it as  my way is faster.
I do however love that she uses her imagination and exercising her creativity.
She made those pizza and bundt cakes  with  real flour, baked, and paint them.
She even packed this "chopped nuts" that she made and colored out of  foam.
We have so many things here that she made .  I put them in a big box so she would be able to see them when she's all grown up.

Minion Party Kit for my Son's Birthday

My son's birthday falls on  school days so ever since he started going to school, we always  celebrate it in school with his classmates.  He asked us  if he could have a party for his 8th birthday and  hubby is considering it. I am excited that I got this Minion party kit because  this is a good  birthday theme for him as both of my kids love the movie,  Despicable Me .  The Minion Kit party  include streamers, candles, cutlery sets, plates, beverage and napkins, cups, straws, decorating kit, table cover, balloon, ribbon, banner, and hats.

These straws are super cute.  It has 24 straws in a pack which is perfect for the number of my son's classmates and friends.
I would have to buy  additional cups because one pack only has 8 cups in it.
An additional pack of hats  is also needed because there is only 8 of them in a pack and it is not enough for the number of his classmates and friends.  Luckily, I have a code to use  to enjoy a 10% discount.
There's two of this minion foil balloon.  A birthday is not complete without balloons, right?
I love this turquoise and orange crepe streamers.  You can definitely decorate a whole room with these.
There  are two set of napkins in a kit, you get the beverage napkin and the lunch napkins.  When you are serving  food for  kids, napkins  is a must have.
There are two set of plates as well, one is 7' and another is 9".  Each set has 8 plates.
The bright yellow cutlery set includes 8 forks, 8 spoons, and 8 knives.
I love that the kit includes a whole set of decorations which  would really accentuate the whole minion theme.
My son wanted to blow up this  18' foil balloon already but I told him to wait till the party lol.
The table cover  is great to have especially if we are going to serve the snack in school.  It would keep the mess off the table.
The Mini-on kit also include a roll of orange  solid curling ribbon.
The Despicable Me jointed banner would be so cool to use to  complete the  Despicable Me Decorations.  All I have to do is to order the cake and I can  stick  the candles in it and we are good to go.

I can't believe how time flies.  My son is turning 8 yeas old already in a couple of months. I am just glad that I have the opportunity to spend my time with them.  I am grateful to my husband that he supports me being a stay at home mom and he doesn't  mind that  I am stay at home mom.  Soon, my kids will be grown up and that's when the time that I will branch out.  For now, I want to focus my time  for them and my husband.

Update 1/15/1015 - today my son turned 8.  I started decorating  although the party won't be  till this Saturday.
