Incentive for High Grades

This year, I am challenging my kids to maintain their high grades. I told them at the beginning of the year that I will give an incentive of $100 if they can maintain a grade of 100 from the first grading up to the final grades.
So far, my daughter is maintaining her grades to  100 from the first grading to the third.    Our son has high grades too but  his grades fluctuates because he doesn't like to study.  Our son is equally smart as his sister but  he is the type that would just read his notes once and that  is it, he got it.  It doesn't work all the time  but  his grade is still great.  He is almost kind of has a  photographic memory.  It makes me happy that choosing  to be a work-at-home-mom is paying off as hubby  and  I can really focus in helping the kids.
When I got pregnant, hubby and I   made a decision  that one of us should be a full time parent so giving up my career is something that I don't regret doing.  I can fully take care  of my kids and be there for my family  all the time.  I was their first teacher as I taught them at home during their pre-school years.  The joy of it all is that, they remember that bond that  we had when  we were  doing our learning at home.  They called me Mommy teacher when they were little.
I  salute those  working Moms who can do it all, have a full time career  and be there for  their kids.  Sometimes it doesn't always work out well for the kids so working parents   find private tutor for their children.    Luckily, there are so many private tutors nowadays that you can  find.  With the  help of Internet, private tutoring is no longer an issue for parents.
I am blessed to have   smart kids as I can't afford to have tutors for both of them.  In return for their  hard work in school, we give them rewards  once in a while.  Parenting is  no easy job, it just need  dedication  and hard work for both parents.

  1. I never looked back when I quit my job to work at home to be with my kids. It is the best decision I ever made!

  2. Those grades are excellent! Your son may not be maintaining a 100, but he's pretty darn close!

  3. When I have kids if I have the chance to be a stay at home mom I would jump at it. As much as i love working (and I do) to have the chance to be with my kids every step of the way is even better. Keep up the great work mommy teacher! lol

  15. They grade differently in your area than mine. I hope that your children can maintain those great reports!

  16. I feel you almost have to reward your kiddos for grades. When you're older you don't work for free so why should kiddos get A's for no reason. They need motivation

  20. Congrats on having smart kids aside from their beauty Sis. My son's grade is very low compared to his little sister. We keep on encouraging him to try and do his best, so far it is working. Private tutors really helps too especially when you can afford.

  21. You did a great job raising two clever kids. I would love to give incentive to my kids when that day came. For now, I will enjoy every bit of her toddler moments.
I've been a teacher and tutor before and I love every minute of it.

  23. You should be proud of your kids endeavours sis. They have really good grades. Like you, I make it a point that there is a reward for our daughter to meet so she gets motivated to keep studying.

I like how you made that sacrifice of being a full time mom. That was my dream when I got pregnant but plans changed and up until now, I am still in the corporate world. But keep it up sis! You and your hubby are doing great jobs in raising your kids well.

  25. Time management is what truly those working mothers do and they are working so hard to make sure that they are also fully functioning when their children needs them. Good ideas you do, that reminds of the way my parents did to us too. In order to strive for a higher grade.

  26. It is true, parenting entails a huge amount of dedication and time and it is very fulfilling to see the fruits of your hard work. It is also up to us parents to motivate our little ones so they can be the best that they can be! Good job mum + dad for raising these smart + awesome kids! :)
