Goofy Kids

Having two children who love to goof around is so much fun.  Ms. Burrito think that she can be a tinker fairy so she likes green  clothes.  Mr. Burrito like to act like a rock star so he loves sun glasses.  We were having a story time one night and  Mr. Burrito   decided to wear his sun glasses so we were laughing  inside their bedroom.
I hope and pray that this  yucky  stomach virus will  bid goodbye for good!

Favorite Color

PhotobucketI don't know if this is being practiced in every school here in the United States but I really like the idea of letting them participate in publishing a book.   When my daughter was in Kindergarten, they   had one also.
This kind of project  really encourages children to   like writing and  creating short stories.  This is the main reason why  my daughter  started writing the short stories   in her notebook.  I will be sharing it here one by one soon.
This is the drawing she made  that matches the  text  she created below.
The title of the book that they did  last year in Kindergarten was "What did I see?" and this year they wrote about their  "Favorite color."

Below is the image that  you get from a special lens  that is attached to a kid's flashlight.

"We are involved in youth testing internationally.
We want to try to prove without a shadow of a doubt the relationship
between physical fitness and health, not just physical fitness and ability to perform."

Sweet Valentine Treats

Ms. Burrito did not go to school last Monday because of her colds.  We thought that  she won't be able to go  on the next day because she was fevered on Monday night.  We were surprised when  I woke up and check on her if she's still sick, she sat up right away and said that she feel a lot better.
Do you know what the motivation was?  The valentine's day celebration in school!  She did not want to miss that one.  They made a valentine box  at their arts  class and  they each put some treat for each boxes.  She came home with lots of treats.
Ms. Burrito isn't a sweet tooth, she is like me when it comes to sweet, while the boys in the family are the ones with sweet teeth.  So Mr. Burrito was smiling from ear to ear because he is the sole recipient of the sweet treats lol.
Do you remember that  little boy (Ms. Burrito's classmate) who asked her for a date?  He gave  my daughter a set of Chanel Earrings.  Now, I plan to ask his Mom if she knows about  it because this brand of earrings is not something that a  little boy would give to a 6 year old girl.  I might  returned this to the boy's mom if she doesn't know about it..
I may have to tell this kid to  concentrate on his studies first and  enjoy his childhood and forget about girls  while he is still young.  I don't know if I am in that right position but it's starting to bother me.

Entertainment for Kids

Due to the series of vaccination shots that Mr. Burrito had, he was skeptical to go to the doctor. However, there were red spots that was emerging from his feet so we had to bring him to the doctor again. Although it wasn't bothering him, we had to make sure that doctor could take a look at it to make sure. The doctor doesn't know what it is though so we came home empty and clueless.
While waiting  for us to be called, they spent time watching the fishes inside the  big aquarium.  The establishments's huge   fish tank or aquarium is  a very good entertainment for the kids while waiting in the lobby.
We have no idea   what these red spots are.  We gave him some  benadryl and it seemed to help a little bit.
When we came out  at the doctor's office, it was snowing very hard.
Our weekend was spent running errands and playing in the snow.  The kids  went sled riding at their Pap's  side yard.

A Trip to the Park

We had a good weather last Sunday so we made a trip to a nearby park to let the kids play.
It wasn't cold for the kids but it was for me lol.
This mysterious cloud caught my attention.
Few more weeks and we would be enjoying  the beauty of Spring.  Thank God for the mild winter.

Catholic School Week

This week  is a  the celebration of the Catholic School Week at St. Joe's.  This year's  focus is Faith, Academics, and Service.    Everyday since Monday, they have  activities.

  • Monday - Open House - Parents and grandparents were invited to school to sin in the class and observe.
  • Tuesday - Teacher's Day -  Ms. Burrito gave  her teacher something.
  • Wednesday - Student's Day - We served  sundae for   all the students..
  • Thursday - Mass at the  St. Joe's church for Faith and Service
  • Friday - Academic is the concentration  on this day.  Teachers will switch classes.

Below is the reward that Ms. Burrito  got from her teacher.    She  got the most stickers among the girls for the behavioral  chart.  Every nine weeks, the teacher gives  the student who has the most stickers with a prize.    Every good deed that they do, they get a sticker for it and place it beside their names on the behavior chart.
Here are the rest of the pictures I took last Monday.  Mr. Burrito got to experience  being a  real student in school.
Some of the artworks that students did, posted on the wall.
Both Ms. Burrito and Billy got the reward for this month.  I think Billy is a Vietnamese but I am not sure.
The cute  heart people that the first grade made.  They hang it inside their classroom.
Being able to sit inside the classroom was a great experience  as a parent.
